Sipprelle consultants win in Illinois

Good news for congressional candidate Scott Sipprelle: his consultants won the first two competitive House primaries in the nation.  Jamestown Associates’ Ken Kurson was the consultant for Robert Dold, a businessman who won the GOP nod for Senate Mark Kirk’s open seat, and Joe Walsh, who will be challenging U.S. Rep. Melissa Bean.  Both were underdogs in multi-candidate races and both prevailed despite being outspent. Sipprelle, a former Wall Streeter, faces Fair Haven Mayor Michael Halfacre for the GOP nod to take on U.S. Rep. Rush Holt.

"Since the print publication of this list, Christie, in his capacity as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, helped decisively turn the midterm elections in the Republicans' favor, which makes him a bit more influential than we initially gave him credit for, post-Bridgegate. So when your state governments do absolutely nothing for you for the next four years, be sure to thank him!"
