Congressman Rothman’s Statement onLegislation to Authorize the Creation of the National Museum of the American Latino

Washington, DC – Today, Congressman Steve Rothman (D-NJ) released the following statement on H.R. 3459, a bill to authorize the Creation of the National Museum of the American Latino: I am proud to be a cosponsor and strong supporter of H.R. 3459, a bill that would authorize the Smithsonian’s Arts and Industries building on the National Mall as the designated location of the National Museum of the American Latino. This legislation will bring us one step closer to creating a long overdue national museum to celebrate the rich cultural heritage that the Latino community has brought to our country. I am proud to represent a diverse congressional district that includes many of the more than 1.2 million Latinos who contribute to New Jersey’s economic, social, cultural, and political landscape. I look forward to working with my colleagues to pass this legislation and making this museum a reality.

"This meeting is entirely off the record. Until somebody leaks it."
