Mullen on Rothman: ‘moving your home to challenge one of your own doesn’t make sense’

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-8) today collected the support of building trades, carpenters, transit workers and letter carriers in his CD 9 primary fight with U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman.

“Our members have been able to count on both Congressmen’s unfailing support,” said Bill Mullen, president of the New Jersey State Building and Constructions Trades Council. “But core principle of any organization – labor or political – is that its members must stick together. Moving your home to challenge one of your own doesn’t make sense. That’s why we’re standing by Congressman Bill Pascrell.”

“For Congressman Pascrell, advocating for protecting jobs and creating jobs has always been the top priority,” said Raymond M. Pocino, Vice President and Eastern Regional Manager of the Laborers International Union of North America. “The fight has gotten tougher during the past few years, but so has Bill Pascrell. He can count on us 100 percent.”
