Republican Cino running against Garrett

A failed candidate for the state Senate last year, Michael J. Cino of Demarest resurfaced today as a 5th District candidate for Congress.

“This District has been improperly represented for far too long by someone who takes far too much money from Wall Street and Hedge Fund lobbyists,” Cino said, taking aim at U.S. Rep. Scott Garrett (R-5). “That is not in the economic interests of the people of Northern New Jersey.”

Bergen County Republican Organization chairman Bob Yudin is already on record in support of giving the line to Garrett, infuriating Cino.

“It is time we get a fresh approach to the economic crisis facing this nation,” said the businessman. “Having a congressman who takes so much money from Wall Street and Hedge Fund interests is simply not the way to stimulate economic growth and getting out of the economic crisis.”

Teaneck Deputy Mayor Adam Gussen, a Democrat, announced earlier this week that he is challenging Garrett.

"Plato didn’t think much of it [democracy] as a system of government, but then again Plato had a world of forms removed from reality where he could take refuge from the collisions of society."
