GREENSTEIN, DEANGELO & BENSON TO BENCIVENGO: RESIGN NOW

Following today’s verdict in which Hamilton Township Mayor John Bencivengo was found guilty on five counts of extortion and money laundering charges, the 14th Legislative team of Senator Linda R. Greenstein (D-Plainsboro), Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo and Assemblyman Dan Benson (both D-Hamilton) called on Bencivengo to immediately resign from office for the good of the people of the Township.

“The jury has rendered a clear, unequivocal verdict in this case and, as a result, Mr. Bencivengo needs to resign from office immediately. It is time that our community is able to move on from this chapter and focus on the matters affecting the residents on the whole and not just the legal issues of one man,” said DeAngelo. “The residents of Hamilton Township deserve a local government that works in the best interest of the residents, and I will work in my capacity to ensure that the town is put back on solid footing.”
