Jones: Power still a problem in Paterson, especially for Housing Authority seniors

Paterson Mayor Jeff Jones said the city Housing Authority has equipped senior centers with generators to compensate for lack of electrical power.

But there’s another problem.

“Gas is the big issue now,” the mayor told PolitickerNJ.com

The backup generators don’t have enough.

“We’ve begun conversations with schools to make schools food distribution centers,” Jones said. “Now we are in the process of getting the food. OEM is trying to get food transported to the schools. Seniors need to eat now.”

"He’s obviously working very, very hard at it. I mean he’s traveling all over the country as chairman of the [Republican Governors Association] and I think at this point he has as good a chance or better than anybody else. His name is household word all across the country, and I think he would make a great president."
