RIBLE LEGISLATION REMOVING LICENSE REQUIREMENT FOR RECREATIONAL BINGO SIGNED INTO LAW Bipartisan legislation sponsored by Assembly Republican Conference Leader Dave Rible permitting bingo games conducted solely for recreation or amusement by any person or organization without the need to obtain licensure under the “Bingo Licensing Law” was signed into law today by Gov. Chris Christie. “Groups such as senior citizens’ associations or clubs that are using bingo as a means of entertainment will be exempt from the expense of obtaining a license as currently prescribed,” said Rible, R-Monmouth and Ocean. “For these types of groups, bingo is a form of amusement and a medium for social interaction. Removing the licensure requirement will help them eliminate a cost that should not be incurred considering their purpose is to entertain, rather than a motivation for profit.” Under Rible’s bill, A-1351, a bingo game may only be conducted without licensure provided that: no player furnishes anything of value for the opportunity to participate; the prizes awarded are nominal; and no person is compensated for managing or assisting in running the game. #### On the Net: http://www.NJAssemblyRepublicans.com NJ Assembly Republicans on Facebook NJ Assembly Republicans on Twitter
