Runyan talks of getting bills to conference committee

MOUNT LAUREL – U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan, in his victory speech tonight, talked a lot about bipartisanship.

Afterward, he talked more specifically about how that translates into results in Washington, D.C.

Congressional initiatives have to be allowed to progress so that they can get to the conference committee, he said as supporters slowly filtered out of the Westin here after celebrating his victory over Shelley Adler in the Third District.

“I’ve said this many times,’’ he said: “You have to allow the process to work.” But he said there has been an unwillingness on the part of the Senate to allow some initiatives to move forward.
