Trenton- Sunday is Veterans Day, an annual holiday celebrating those who have served in the armed forces. Assemblyman John Wisniewski, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, released the following statement commemorating Veterans Day. “On Veterans Day, we celebrate and honor the service of the brave men and women who have risked their lives to protect our freedoms. We are proud to have re-elected a Commander in Chief, President Barack Obama, who has honored their service by bringing them home from Iraq, working to end the war in Afghanistan, allowing them to serve openly, and honoring our commitments to veterans after they leave the service. Following the devastation wrought by Hurricane Sandy, New Jerseyans have been helped by members of the armed services from around the country as we struggle to rebuild. We are particularly grateful for their work here and we thank them for keeping our communities safe and assisting as we recover.”
"Let’s be clear, this was not a ‘humanitarian’ act by the Castro regime. It was a swap of convicted spies for an innocent American."
