Alexander rakes in $26K at Montclair fundraiser

LD 34 state Senate candidate Mark Alexander had his first Montclair fundraiser this week, bringing in approximately $26,000 in donations.

Key dignitaries in attendance included Montclair Mayor Robert Jackson, Haledon Mayor Domenick Stampone, 3rd Ward Montclair Councilman Sean Spiller, and BlueWave NJ President Marcia Marley.

Running against incumbent state Sen. Nia Gill (D-34), Alexander spoke about his desire to bring real representation to 34th District residents with a renewed focus on constituent services and community outreach.

Senator Gill has failed Clifton, Montclair, Orange, and East Orange residents, the challenger said.

"He’s obviously working very, very hard at it. I mean he’s traveling all over the country as chairman of the [Republican Governors Association] and I think at this point he has as good a chance or better than anybody else. His name is household word all across the country, and I think he would make a great president."
