An elected official whose political committee is called “Union City First” is forgetting he represents more than just Union City. While Union City gets millions of dollars each year in special state aid — including grants from the Port Authority despite there being no Port Authority property in Union City — what about the rest of his state legislative district?

30 TV: BRIAN STACK – JERSEY CITY LAST
VOICEOVER: “Union City Mayor Brian Stack is also a State Senator who supposedly represents Jersey City. But does he? Stack sold his Senate vote to the Republicans and sold out Jersey City. Stack got Union City over twenty-five million dollars in extra state aid and Jersey City got zero. Nothing. Twenty five million for Union City. Nothing for Jersey City. Now the FBI is investigating Stack’s corruption. Call Brian Stack. Tell him to stop selling out Jersey City.”
BACKGROUND: Brian Stack has voted with Governor Christie and State Senate Republicans more often than any other Democrat, and also got over $25 million in extra state aid for fiscal years 2011 and 2012 while Jersey City got nothing from the same program. Stack received this money in spite of filing false certifications with the state where he claimed to have passed a “pay to play” law when he hadn’t in a move clearly influenced by political considerations. The FBI raided Union City Hall last month as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into Stack and his administration.
The commercial is presently airing on Jersey City cable television.
