Christie says he’s not concerned with standing in Republican Party

BELMAR – Gov. Chris Christie told residents he refuses to be labeled too moderate or too conservative after being asked by a resident if he thinks he’s too moderate for the Republican Party.

The governor brushed off the notion that he doesn’t conform to GOP party standards, saying that people “try and put you in a box for their own advantage.”

“As for my standing in the Republican Party, listen, I say what I think and I don’t worry about labels,” he said. “Man, I’m the same guy I was two years ago, three years ago, when I ran that I am today.”

"The possible 2017 contender for the governorship shouldered Thanksgiving birds alongside Stack, who took the insanity of his annual turkey drive to another level this year, launching a 20,000-bird door-to-door offensive."
