Byrne on guv run: ‘probably not’

Former Democratic State Party Chairman Tom Byrne this morning told PolitickerNJ.com he’s leaning against running for governor – but didn’t yet rule it out.

“Just back from a week away with my family; purposely didn’t think too much about politics,” said Byrne, son of former Gov. Brendan Byrne. “As things stand right now, probably not. But my father would have given you the same answer at this stage in 1973. He had some basic things in place then, and I do now.”

"It’s not a political environment that’s particularly warm for incumbents, but it looks like Booker has little to be worried about as the campaign season draws to a close."
