Christie thanks Alec Baldwin for $250,000 for Manahawkin center

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP – Gov. Chris Christie told residents here today that actor Alec Baldwin donated $250,000 to the Mill Creek Community Center in Manahawkin.

The governor shared the story during his town hall in Stafford Township, saying the liberal actor called Christie shortly after Superstorm Sandy and asked how he could help.

“I can’t believe I’m actually doing this,” Christie joked, adding, “Thank you Alec Baldwin.”

Christie said the Sandy relief charity First Lady Mary Pat heads has collected about $31 million so far.

"Since the print publication of this list, Christie, in his capacity as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, helped decisively turn the midterm elections in the Republicans' favor, which makes him a bit more influential than we initially gave him credit for, post-Bridgegate. So when your state governments do absolutely nothing for you for the next four years, be sure to thank him!"
