Clifton versus Clifton

Former Clifton Police Lt. Pat Ciser of Wayne has put in for the Republican nomination for sheriff of Passaic County, according to a county source.

Passaic Prosecutor’s Office Captain Frank Feenan had the edge among those candidates who have already submitted letters of interest to Passaic County GOP Chairman John Traier.

But Ciser has political support and presents the interesting dynamic of Clifton versus Clifton. Before he became sheriff in 2011, incumbent Democrat Sheriff Richard Berdnik served as a police lieutenant in Clifton.
