Assemblywoman Amy H. Handlin, R-Monmouth, issued the following statement today on Governor Christie’s State of the State address: “From storm preparation and response to recovery and rebuilding, Governor Christie has personified strong leadership while navigating New Jersey through the most challenging episodes in state history. “I share the Governor’s commitment to work across the aisle with local, state and federal officials to help rebuild New Jersey as quickly as possible. Elected officials must act in bipartisan spirit – especially after a natural disaster – to assist those whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy. “This will be among the most challenging years for our state and I have enormous confidence that this administration will position New Jersey for a stunning rejuvenation.” ####
"He’s obviously working very, very hard at it. I mean he’s traveling all over the country as chairman of the [Republican Governors Association] and I think at this point he has as good a chance or better than anybody else. His name is household word all across the country, and I think he would make a great president."
