Hermansen running for the Assembly in LD 39

Former Bergen County Freeholder Rob Hermansen will pursue the 39th Legislative District seat occupied by Assemblyman Robert Schroeder, he told PolitickerNJ.com.

“Yes,” Hermansen said in response to a texted question.

Schroeder is under indictment on charges of check kiting. His future plans are unclear.

Hermansen won a bloody GOP convention battle last year and then lost last year’s November general election.

“Tonight I have announced that I am seeking the Republican Party’s nomination for District 39 Assembly seat,” the candidate said in a FaceBook post. “I am reaching out to all my friends and family for your support. I was honored to be your Freeholder for three years and I need your help to become one of the next Assembly candidates. I look forward to working with Governor Christie and his campaign staff in helping in his re-election bid. I was proud to run on the Governor’s ticket four years ago and look forward to the opportunity to do so again. The campaign starts tonight, look forward to seeing you all on the trail.”

"This meeting is entirely off the record. Until somebody leaks it."
