Middlesex senators call on potential guv candidates to finalize decisions

Sens. Bob Smith (D-17) and Joe Vitale (D-19) want the Democratic Party to coalesce behind state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18) for governor.

They want the Obi Wan Kenobi talk to cease.

“We are now approaching the State of the State with no unified voice for the Democratic Party vision,” the senators said in a statement.

“In Middlesex County we have endorsed the candidacy of Senator Barbara Buono because she represents a clear contrast to Chris Christie, she will stand up and fight for middle-class taxpayers and, most importantly, she can win.  Every day Democrats waste in not unifying behind the Buono for Governor campaign helps the Republican Party agenda. We feel strongly that it is time for candidates considering a run to finalize a decision so the Democratic Party can move forward and begin to get New Jersey back on the right track this November.”

"The governor still has to come to bat."
