Singleton plays in Jersey City Mayor’s race

Assemblyman Troy Singleton (D-7), a rising star in the Democratic Party, is backing a challenger in the Jersey City mayor’s race.

According to the Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC), the Election Fund of Troy Singleton contributed $10,000 to Downtown Jersey City Councilman Steven Fulop’s team.

The aggregate amount is dated Oct. 2, 2012.

Fulop is challenging two-term Democratic incumbent Mayor Jerry Healy.

A second challenger, former Seton Hall basketball player Jerry Walker, formally entered the mayor’s contest last week.
