Speaker Oliver to join Saturday Gun Violence Prevention Rally in Jersey City

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver will join the One Million Moms for Gun Control rally Saturday in Jersey City to draw attention to the need for tougher gun violence prevention measures on the state and federal level.

“In every community across the nation, we felt the despair and helplessness of the families of Sandy Hook,” said Oliver (D-Essex/Passaic). “We were reminded of a vulnerability that will persist if we, as lawmakers, do not act responsibly. I look forward to standing with other New Jersey supporters for what we all know to be true – that New Jersey needs action, not more talk. We also need enforcement, not excuses, to improve gun safety and mental health services throughout the state…”
