Balles to launch LD2 Senate candidacy on Monday

Atlantic County Sheriff Frank Balles will announce his 2nd District state Senate candidacy on Monday at 3:30 p.m. in Gary’s Restaurant in Pleasantville.

First reported as a Republican challenger to state Sen. Jim Whelan (D-2) by WPG Radio Talk Show Host Harry Hurley, Balles is running on a ticket with incumbent GOP Assemblyman John Amodeo and Assemblyman Chris Brown.

Harry Hurley contributed to this report.

"He’s obviously working very, very hard at it. I mean he’s traveling all over the country as chairman of the [Republican Governors Association] and I think at this point he has as good a chance or better than anybody else. His name is household word all across the country, and I think he would make a great president."
