Buono lands Professional Firefighters endorsement

The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey (PFANJ), the state association of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) endorsed State Sen. Barbara Buono for Governor.

“The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey endorses Senator Buono today because she will carry on our mission: improving the life and livelihood of firefighters,” said PFANJ President Dominick Marino.”Throughout her career, Senator Buono has stood by labor issues. She has been a vocal advocate for fair wages. She has fought to protect health care benefits andpensions. New Jersey needs a governor who is focused on middle-class priorities. As someone from working-class roots, Senator Buono has always fought for the middle class.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of President Marino, the PFANJ and the IAFF,” Buono said. “New Jersey’s firefighters put their lives on the line for us every day, and it is of vital importance that we protect them by ensuring fair labor practices and their right to collectively bargain. I will continue to make these issues a priority if elected governor.”

The Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey is the IAFF affiliated state association in New Jersey representing nearly 3,500 career firefighters and more than 500 career emergency medical care providers in the Garden State.

"Since the print publication of this list, Christie, in his capacity as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, helped decisively turn the midterm elections in the Republicans' favor, which makes him a bit more influential than we initially gave him credit for, post-Bridgegate. So when your state governments do absolutely nothing for you for the next four years, be sure to thank him!"
