Hunterdon County teacher Marie Corfield will run for the Assembly again in LD 16, sources tell PolitickerNJ.com.
Corfield twice narrowly lost in challenges for the legislative seat, first to the late Assemblyman Pete Biondi and last year to incumbent Assemblywoman Donna Simon.
A Democrat who went toe-to-toe with Gov. Chris Christie during a 2010 Town Hall meeting, Corfield attended the gubernatorial campaign kickoff for state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18) and has maintained an aggressive districtwide political schedule.
No one in the Somerset Party doubted Corfield would run again after coming so close, but sources say she has formally notified the party organization that she is committed to running.
