DGA: ‘We can win in New Jersey’

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) this afternoon amped up its opposition to Gov. Chris Christie in an email blast to supporters looking for cash.

“Unemployment and property taxes are up, and he’s hacked away at critical services. He’s also stood in the way of expanding access to women’s health services and vetoed increasing the minimum wage from $7.25 to $8.50 – after he gave millionaires a tax cut,” according to the DGA’s Lis Smith (pictured). “But there’s one problem: Christie’s hiding his record behind his bullying.”

Arguing that Christie can be beaten if Democrats have the resources, Smith in her email tells supporters they need to raise $50,000 by midnight, Feb. 28th.

“Rush $3 or more to the (DGA) to help us get out the truth and defeat Chris Christie and other Republican governors,” Smith says. “We can win in New Jersey. It would be a huge blow to the extremist GOP.”

"He’s obviously working very, very hard at it. I mean he’s traveling all over the country as chairman of the [Republican Governors Association] and I think at this point he has as good a chance or better than anybody else. His name is household word all across the country, and I think he would make a great president."
