Gov. to attend four fundraisers in Cali next week

Gov. Chris Christie has scheduled four fundraisers in California next week, according to campaign strategist Mike DuHaime.

In addition to a Feb. 13th event in Palo Alto at the home of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Christie also has scheduled fundraisers in Beverly Hills, La Jolla and Santa Barbara during the West Coast swing.

To date, the governor has raised more than $2.6 million for his bid, including $500,000 at a New Brunswick event last night.  He has declined to accept state matching funds in the primary election and is expected to do the same for the general election.

State Sen. Barbara Buono, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has so far raised about $400,000 for her campaign, enough to qualify to receive state matching funds.

"I don't think what he's doing tonight, the method by which he's doing it helps to build a trustful relationship."
