In LD 25, Carroll running for re-election; Grossi has edge for clerk’s seat, say sources

Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll (R-25) is running for re-election on a ticket with the Buccos, the veteran movement conservative assemblyman told PolitickernJ.com.

Carroll was in the mix to succeed retiring Clerk Joan Bramhall but won’t pursue the job, he said.

Sources say Morris County Freeholder Ann Grossi has the inside track for the clerk’s job, but the Morris County GOP Chairman stressed that Republicans have an open primary in his county and Carroll backed him up.

“We’re not like Democrats who pull a name out of a hat,” said the assemblyman.

State Sen. Tony Bucco (R-25) and his son, Assemblyman Tony Bucco, Jr. (R-25) are poised to file on a ticket with Carroll.

"This meeting is entirely off the record. Until somebody leaks it."
