NJ FMBA Breaks Ground on first Playground honoring victims of Newtown Ct.

The Sandy Ground, Where Angels Play Sea Bright, NJ – March 1, 2013: 10 East Ocean Avenue, 6:30am (Official Local Sunrise) As the sun rises on March 1, 2013 in Sea Bright, New Jersey, the New Jersey State Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association Foundation will commence with ground breaking ceremony on its first of twenty-six (26) 100% handicap accessible playgrounds to be built along the New Jersey, New York, Connecticut coastal communities hit by Hurricane Sandy. Inspired by the senseless violence in Newtown, Connecticut and in an effort to restore the storm ravaged east coast, we endeavor to create 26 living memorials to all children who have been victims of violence while creating safe, fun places for children to be children. This celebration will include fire boats with water display, bag pipers, fireworks and local school children to participate in a celebration of hope, recovery and renewal. Attendees include family members from Sandy Hook and Newtown CT, NJ State FMBA President William J. Lavin, Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long, Sea Bright town officials, Sandy Ground Committee Members, Sureplay International, Giordano Contracting, Union County Police and Fire Pipes & Drums, Press Communications.
