Prieto, Burzichelli & Watson Coleman Introduce Resolution Granting Subpoena Power to Assembly Budget Committee

Move Comes After Repeated Lack of Cooperation from Christie Administration

Budget Panel to Consider Resolution on Wednesday

(TRENTON) – Following the Christie administration’s repeated failure to appear at the Assembly Budget Committee’s request, Assembly Democrats Vincent Prieto, John Burzichelli and Bonnie Watson Coleman on Friday announced they’ve introduced legislation granting the committee subpoena power to investigate state revenue collections, budget contingency plans, the state Lottery privatization plans, Hurricane Sandy relief funding and other matters.

The Assembly Budget Committee will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 20) to consider the resolution. The meeting will be in Committee Room 11 of the State House Annex in Trenton…
