DiVincenzo honors Christie’s chief counsel with Irishman of the Year Award

The unabashed love continues between powerful Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo and Republican Gov. Chris Christie.

Days after not lending his presence to an Essex County Democratic Party rally in honor of state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18), DiVincenzo today honored Charles McKenna as the county’s 2013 Irishman of the Year.

McKenna is chief counsel to Christie.

Buono is the Democrats’ presumptive gubernatorial challenger.

"He evolves like any other politician who knows how to flip a foe into a friend when necessary. He’ll do whatever it takes to survive."
