Holt chief of staff moving on

Chris Hartmann, who has served as chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Rush Holt for the past five years, has resigned to take a position with the National Association of Health Underwriters.

In a letter to friends, Hartmann said Chris Gaston will take over as Holt’s new chief of staff.

Hartmann has worked for Holt for the past 11 years, before that working for U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak, who retired in 2010.

Hartmann begins his new job as vice president for congressional affairs for the NAHU Monday.

Holt is one of four Democrats vying for the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination.

"The possible 2017 contender for the governorship shouldered Thanksgiving birds alongside Stack, who took the insanity of his annual turkey drive to another level this year, launching a 20,000-bird door-to-door offensive."
