Angelini Hosts Drug Abuse Forum Experts, Lawmakers Discuss Strategies for Combating Growth in Heroin, Prescription Drug Abuse Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini, R-Monmouth, hosted a roundtable discussion on Tuesday at Monmouth University which centered on ways to address the growth in heroin and prescription drug abuse. The discussion featured lawmakers and experts from law enforcement, the substance abuse field and the medical community as well those whose families have been affected by drug abuse. “This was a very productive first step in what must be a comprehensive approach to addressing the drug abuse crisis in our area,” said Angelini. “I look forward to using the information from yesterday’s discussion to formulate concrete strategies to address drug abuse and, especially the alarming increase in heroin and prescription drug abuse.” At the forum, Angelini was joined by Assemblyman Dave Wolfe and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande, representatives from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and the Division of Consumer Affairs, as well as medical doctors, state and county officials. “The forum offered a sobering look at the scope of the drug problem we are facing in Monmouth County and throughout the state,” explained Angelini. “This meeting is the beginning of an ongoing dialogue that will help us to stem the drug abuse epidemic that is affecting so many people in our area.” #### On the Net: http://www.NJAssemblyRepublicans.com NJ Assembly Republicans on Facebook NJ Assembly Republicans on Twitter
"Since the print publication of this list, Christie, in his capacity as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, helped decisively turn the midterm elections in the Republicans' favor, which makes him a bit more influential than we initially gave him credit for, post-Bridgegate. So when your state governments do absolutely nothing for you for the next four years, be sure to thank him!"
