Lonegan signs Americans for Prosperity’s latest pledge

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Steve Lonegan today signed the “Americans for Prosperity No Climate Tax Pledge.”

Already gearing up for what he believes will be a showdown with Newark Mayor Cory Booker in the general election to fill a vacant U.S. Senate seat, Lonegan said he opposes any climate change legislation that includes a “net increase in government revenue.”

While serving as head of the New Jersey chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the candidate vehemently opposed federal carbon cap and trade provisions championed by President Barack Obama.

Today, Lonegan challenged Booker and the other candidates in the race to sign the pledge and “protect New Jersey taxpayers and businesses from hidden taxes.”
