Bergen County Democratic Committee Chairman Lou Stellato issued a statement in support of Freeholder Jim Tedesco for county executive.
“Today, after consulting with many of our members, I am asking the committee to join me in supporting Freeholder and Former Paramus Mayor James Tedesco as the Democratic nominee for Bergen County County Executive,” Stellato said. “Jim is unquestionably qualified and offers a brighter vision for Bergen County’s future, but what I find most impressive is his character. He is someone who as a two-term mayor continued to run into smoke filled houses as a volunteer firefighter and as a father was the rock of his family after the tragic passing of his wife.
“It was Jim as Paramus’ Deputy OEM Director who helped coordinate operations during the Garden State Plaza shooting and he was the first to call on for an investigation on the George Washington Bridge lane closings, well before it was national news,”the chairman added. “Jim Tedesco is a strong, decisive leader who builds consensus to get things done and understands the challenges of Bergen County’s families. Bergen County will be well served with Jim Tedesco as their County Executive.”
