Bell submits petitions to challenge Booker

TRENTON – Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Jeff Bell submitted signatures Monday.

A member of Bell’s staff submitted petitions in Trenton Monday as the U.S. Senate race begins to take shape. Bell, who ran an unsuccessful U.S. in 1978, is set to compete for the GOP’s nomination against Murray Sabrin, a college professor who also submitted petitions earlier today.

U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) is the incumbent lawmaker.

"It’s not a political environment that’s particularly warm for incumbents, but it looks like Booker has little to be worried about as the campaign season draws to a close."
