DCCC targets Lonegan and MacArthur with robocalls

A national Democratic group is targeting a pair of Republican congressional hopefuls engaged in a GOP primary in South Jersey.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching robocalls against Steve Lonegan and Tom MacArthur as the pair vies for their party’s nomination in the right-leaning 3rd District. The calls will begin later today and are expected to run through Thursday, according to a DCCC spokesperson.

“We are giving South Jersey residents the opportunity to connect directly with Tom MacArthur and Steven Lonegan and tell them to oppose the Republican budget that heaps tax breaks and handouts on special interests and the wealthiest Americans, and forces the middle class to pay the price,” said Marc Brumer of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. “With this radical budget, MacArthur, Lonegan, and Republicans in Congress are turning their backs on New Jersey’s middle class families, raising their taxes, costing them jobs, and ending the Medicare guarantee.”

The DCCC supports Burlington County Freeholder Aimee Belgard’s CD 3 campaign.

Belgard is locked in a primary challenge against Howard Kleinhendler and Bruce Todd.
