Congrats to Nathan from Phoenix, Arizona for this week’s winning caption, a play off remarks that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney made about New York Times reporter Adam Clymer without knowing that reporters would catch the exchange clearly with their recording equipment:
"There's Adam Clymer -- major league asshole -- from the New York Times," Bush said.
"Yeah, big time," returned Cheney.
A signed print of the cartoon with your winning caption is on its way!
Here are the runner-ups:
GWB: "Did this stuff happen?"
DC: "Will it matter in 7 months?"
- Roger Stryeski, NJ
GWB: "I can't believe Barney wrote the foreword!"
DC: "Better smear his credibility too."
- Dan, WA
Thanks for all your entries, whether commented or emailed. And next time when posting your entries, make sure you leave a name and location. There were a lot of entries that were good that I couldn't use because they lacked any way for me contacting the winner.
Stay tuned for the next Cartoon Caption Contest, coming soon.
