Aaronson & McMorrow : Barham and Burry have to stop passing the buck
In response to a press conference in which Democratic candidate for Freeholder Rebecca Aaronson pledged to bring pay to play reform to Monmouth County government, Bill Barham and Lillian Burry said they would have to wait for reform until state legislators acted.
Barbara McMorrow, Aaronson's running mate, vowed to work to bring pay to play reform to Monmouth County. "We can not wait until someone else comes in to tell us to clean up county government. Pay to Play reform will help to end the practice of contracts going to the highest bidder," McMorrow said.
“I was proud to pass what was then hailed by Common Cause as the strongest pay to play reform in the state. Barbara and I will bring that type of reform to Monmouth County as Freeholders, Aaronson said.
Barham and Burry have claimed that they will not pass pay to play reform until wheeling can be covered by the law. “We can not wait to pass reform. The voters of Monmouth County know that their tax dollars are paying the price for pay to play each and every day, McMorrow said.
