Allen Endorsed By the New Jersey Environmental Federation
Endorsement highlights Senator’s strong environmental record
Burlington— The campaign of 7th District Senator Diane Allen today announced the endorsement of the New Jersey Environmental Federation (NJEF). NJEF is New Jersey’s largest non-profit environmental organization with over 15,000 members.
“I am thrilled to have the endorsement and support of the New Jersey Environmental Federation,” said Senator Allen. “Preserving open space and protecting our precious natural resources are critical to the quality of life in New Jersey. I’m proud to stand with NJEF in support of these goals.”
Senator Allen has sponsored numerous important environmental initiatives during her time in the Senate. She is the author of the “Green EZ Pass” initiative, which would give toll discounts to those who drive fuel-efficient vehicles. She has led the fight for open space preservation, tougher clean water standards, and the cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated sites.
“Environmental protection is not a political issue, nor should it be a partisan issue. It is incumbent upon all of us to work toward a cleaner, healthier environment, for our future and that of our children. We must act in the Legislature to preserve more open space, push forward with the remediation of contaminated lands, and reduce contaminants in our air and water. I look forward to continuing to work with NJEF to enact legislation that will move us toward a cleaner, greener New Jersey.”
