New Jersey Democrats keep talking about Bob Menendez for Vice President: Getty Images Photo
Hillary Clinton should pick Bob Menendez as her running mate, says Rep. Rob Andrews. "I think Bob Menendez would be great for the job and I would love to see it happen for New Jersey and for him," said Andrews, a ten-term Congressman and Clinton supporter.
The Menendez for Vice President campaign was launched last week by John F.X. Graham, a New Jersey Democratic fundraiser and Clinton’s national finance co-chairman. Several key state Democrats have signed on as supporters of Menendez for a slot on the national ticket, and on Friday, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said that the New Jersey Senator would make a strong vice presidential candidate.

Andrews also thought he'd be great to take Menendez's vacant Senate seat since Frank Laudie wants to be a senator to age 123
How about something news worthy?
Who cares what Menendez wants to be -- he's an adulter, a loser and a thief. And Hillary pander, pander, pander -- we know how you really feel!
Andrews
Come on Rob. Could you please put your state-wide ambition on hold for a moment. Eveytime it looks like there is slightest opening he jumps like a kangaroo. Menendez will not be Hillary's VP pick. Soon Rob'll be positioning himself for Lt. Gov. YOUR ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE A UNITED STATES CONGRESSMAN, AND YOU RUN UNOPPOSED.
Hillary not bringing in crowds.
Menendez was at Montclair State University(one of the most Liberal in the country and one with a very high female population), tonight on behalf of Hillary, and yet he drew a laughable crowd of what looked to be less than 100. Now, I could be wrong but when people are excited about a candidate they show up to support them. The MSU College Republicans and I were out tonight in the freezing cold, forced to stand almost totally out of sight so as to not offend the high and mighty Democrats, but we were there. Tonight, I saw elected ass-kissing dems, out to annoint Menendez the VEEP, nothing more.

Sounds like Andrews' career is about over.
gaining some momentum
Andrews, though sometimes criticized for not being progressive enough, is an influential voice in the state and a good congressman to boot. Perhaps there is a little political motivation in Andrews' suggesting that Menendez would be a good VP. But it is also rather obvious that someone as talented as Menendez would be an asset to the state on a national ticket; I don't think I've heard a politician with as much policy know-how as Menendez, we wouldn't have to wait for further seniority positions in future terms for him in the senate to get more influence for N.J., and he is as much a national figure as he is a state figure.
the power of celebrity
People show up for celebrity not Senators. If Hillary came they would be there
It is a trick
The reason that they are floating Menendez is they know that he is getting more unpopular by the day and they figure that we just want him out of the state
Separated at Birth
Wasn't Andrews separated at birth from McGreevey?
I think Menendes would be a great Vice President of Mexico.

a few corrections...
its funny to see what republicans on this site have to say about menendez. obviously, he is not going to be the vp candidate, it just doesnt make sense (as previously noted), he is from a border state and a junior senator. however, republicans dont get that him even being mentioned speaks to his stengths as a legislator. and all you can say in response, is that he is a loser? he's only lost one election and is a national figure in hillary's campaign. and the most absurd and offensive is that he should be vp of mexico. maybe if you werent so ignorant you would know that he's actually cuban. it just goes to show that people write comments with no inclination to get their facts straight. also, his poll numbers are up in the state, which once again shows, you pay no mind to the facts.
say whatever you want about his record, but to keep bringing up a bogus investigation (do you actually know what its about? or did you get all your information from tom kean's ads?) does nothing but prove you cant make a solid argument based on his votes. keep making these posts because it only shows how desperate you are to cut down a guy whos worked hard his whole life. but you wouldnt know that, would you?

Menendez
Ok He's a LOSER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cockhead...
Menendez is being mentioned for only one reason...he's Hispanic. THATS IT! Are you that naive to think that Clinton would float someone who actually matters in national politics?...a better choice on her part would be someone like Tim Kaine.
Republican Conscience
I can't believe tht you think it is ok to make a remark like that. Bob Menendez is an American through and through. He has been fighting for middle-class and poor people his entire life. THe corruption charges brought against him were purely politicial to help out your hapless minority leader in his equally hapless bid for US Senate. Secondly Bob Menendez is Cuban-not all hispanics are from Mexico. Mexico is a wonderful country rich in culture and the Mexican people are rightfully proud of their country despite its constant economic whoas. But your claim that Bob would be a great VP of Mexico is hateful and ignorant. Senator Bob Menedez has been an excellent Senator for NJ, and unlike you and the rest of the bigotry out there NJ is proud to have him.
Tax Cuts for the Middle Class Are Not Enough, Repeal NAFTA!
Before I can support Hillary, I would like to know if she would be willing to repeal or significantly modify her husband's NAFTA. It is clear this legislation was a huge give away to corporate America at the expense of middle class manufacturing jobs. While Hillary talks often of tax breaks for the middle class, she is short on discussion on creating manufacturing jobs for the middle class. While everyone raises the "free trade" flag, it is clear free trade only works when certain economies are equal. Otherwise you have the "race to the botton" as seen with NAFTA and now CAFTA. I wish she would tell us how she plans on restoring America as a manufacturing power. Only then will this great nation and it's backbone, the middle class, recover.
Calling BULLSHIT on sjblue
Sry bro, afraid voting for tax hikes on rich folks does not equate to "fighting for middle-class and poor people". It ammounts to nothing more than rabble rousing class-warfare nonsense that belongs in the early 1900's.
Sorry
But I'm not rich and im my lifetime there have been two presidents that fought for me as a) a poor person and b) a middle-class adult. Those Presidents have been Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. I understand the baiting I have started here-I am not indicating that we should harken back to Carter (although compared to GWB...) At least they cared about the poor. Same thing with Frank Lautenberg and Bob Menendez-they have fought for me. I pay more in taxes than my neighbor who makes significantly more money than I do. COrporate tax breaks do not create jobs they create higher ceo bonuses. I believe that welfare should benefit the poor, I think that if government help american citizens with handouts it should be for family farmers and those living below the poverty line. I do not think the corporate welfare bestowed on big oil, and on companies that profit from war (As Halliburton and Bechtel somehow make money in energy, weapons, and infrastructure and receive an amazing amount of government contrats and have boards loaded with old time GOPers) are fair and necessary. Go ahead and call bullsh*t on me all you like-I'll be happy to return the favor.
Oh of course!
Being from New Jersey you prolly didnt get the memo while you were in school, theres this idea out there called Supply-Side(aka trickle down economics). Its when we cut taxes across the board, and with the more money availible, employers are able to pay more money(while also creating more jobs). We also get to spend more money(helping the economy) with our tax-cuts, along with the more money that big bizzness pays middle-classers like you and I with the help of their tax-cuts. dude, top-down economics, it works. Stop playing around with the class warfare nonsese, these people really dont care about you, they care about your vote.
Just in case you missed it
RR's economic policy wasnt so successful. Unemployment skyrocketed. Trickle down failed.
Failed?
Try giving it a little while to get going(trickle down...=slow) How exactly do you think the 90's gave us such great sucsess?...heres a hint...his name was Gip
