Ayala endorses Manzo
By Max PizarroWilliam Ayala, former chief of staff to the late Mayor Glenn Cunningham and a former candidate for the Assembly, has endorsed Assemblyman Louis Manzo for state Senate in district 31, the opponent of the mayor's widow, Sandra Bolden Cunningham.
"Lou's legislative record over the last two years shows that he is an activist who understands the legislative process and who puts the needs of the people of Jersey City and Bayonne first," writes Ayala in a letter appearing in today's Jersey Journal. "Lou has been a much needed voice in the move towards meaningful property tax reform and has made made fighting for health care benefits for seniors one of his top priorities."
Ayala also endorsed Manzo's "B" column running mates, Nicholas Chiaravalloti and Shelia Newton-Moses.

How soon They forget
According to Tom moran's spot-on column today: "She would be the first African-American senator from Hudson County, and I think that matters," Skippy Kenny says. Gee Senator Kenny, I remember when Senator Glen Cunningham was the first African-American senator from hudson county? Come to think of it, I also remember when you were one of the good guys, those were the days.

Moran’s article was right on point. With all due respect to Ms. Cunningham, she grew up in Newark, was by her husband’s side every day as mayor and state senator from Jersey City, and she still hasn’t come up with her “urban plan” yet? Is it that she can’t identify areas that need improvement in her district or she just can’t come up with solutions to those problems? Or, more likely, her two campaign advisors Bobby and Joe aren’t the types to put much time or effort into developing platforms, ideas or a credible campaign strategy for that matter. This campaign has been disappointing form the beginning and Manzo will likely win, and deservedly so.
No Kidding!
Moran summarized what anybody with an ounce of brains knows...Cunningham's unfit for ANY office, elective or appointive. She has serious character flaws and hasn't demonstrated even a scintilla of insight or policy acumen. I have no doubt that she's the designated puppet, a pliable politician wannabe, more interested in the perquisites of power than in serving the public. She's one baby step from an indictment, if her track record is any indication.
Does it matter?
Slow news day I guess; I can't imagine him having an impact on this race besides his own vote.

jcrocks, aren't you the same poster who claimed Wallace was adjudged not guilty...a lie! Why do I get the feeling you're a Cunningham shill, willing to lie to obfuscate any of her substantial negatives? Presumably, voters have more sense then to let this fifth rate politico wannabe get any further. She should go back to scamming from her foundation and leave politics to the con artists that have a talent for it. She's just a clumsy, lying, self-dealing phony, unfit for any kind of public service.
BILL'S EATING CROW RIGHT ABOUT NOW
Put through college by the Cunninghams, Ayala was the worst kind of traitor. He didn't think Manzo was the better candidate. He was upset he wasn't picked as the Assembly candidate in place of L Harvey Smith. The real question is, with Bill it's all about money. It may be asked, "how much did he get from Manzo to betray Sandy?"
