Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll, one of the state's most conservative legislators, has endorsed Mitt Romney for the GOP presidential nomination. Carroll has represented Morris County in the State Assembly since 1995.

Why Romney?
Why does Assemblyman Carroll, someone who supports smaller government and is pro life, support a flip flopping, second string governor who is no better than Christie Whitman when it comes to policy? Romney supported CHOICE, insituted a state mandated healthcare system, and stated that he didnt want to return to the "policies of Reagan Bush" when he was running for Senate against Kennedy. Romney is worse then even the worst democrat in Hudson county. Romney exemplifies whats wrong with politics and the Republican party. Why support him? Im disappointed by this endorsement.

... Mitt's new deal rhetoric in Michigan as he pandered shamelessly to the dying embers of the auto industry, promising no jobs would be lost and a return to the halcyon days when Detroit was truly the motor city.
Then Again, it is a pretty nifty haircut. I'd love to know what gel he uses to keep it so firm yet silken.
Endorsement is logical
There is nothing wrong with Assemblyman Carroll's endorsement of Romney. Either Romney or McCain will be the Republican presidential nominee. From that 2 person universe of candidates, Governor Romney is at least marginally more conservative.
strange bedfellows
One wonders what precipitated this "earth-shattering" news of an endorsement from Carroll, who seemingly wants to do anything to keep his name in the spotlight, no matter how inconsequential and irrelevant his endorsement might be.
Let's see where Romney and Carroll differ:
Romney favors addressing the crises of global warming, while Carroll voted against N.J.'s groundbreaking global warming bill (he may not even think global warming is real).
Romney doesn't believe the earth was created in seven days and humans were born in their current evolutionary state, unlike Carroll seemingly thinks.
Perhaps this isn't a match made in heaven after all....
I am not sure we should care.
What is the big deal? Just another confused endorsement. I am just wandering why he did not endorse Mike Huckabee. Lack of money perhaps? It is is always easier to endorse somebody who flushes his wallet all the time. Do not mind his conservative credentials.
