Under a barrage of campaign literature from opponent Jay Webber, District 26 Assembly candidate Larry Casha planned to hold a press conference this morning announcing his intentions, if elected, to write a bill entitled, "Truth in Campaign Advertising."
Casha's campaign spokesman Greg Andres said the Webber campaign released a recent mailer stating that Casha opposes "strong immigration laws."
"That's blatantly untrue," said Andres. "We issued a mail piece that outlines a comprehensive immigration plan."

Is Casha trying to implement more restrictions on free speech? While I do not know the extent of the matters Casha intends to address in his bill, this ultimatley comes down to legislation infringing on political speech.
CASHA IS NO SAINT
Don't forget that Casha was involved with Sen. Bob Martin's campaign when Jay Webber last ran for election.
Towards the end of that campaign, Martin (and Casha) sent out a mail piece that stated, "Jay Webber has been taught from his childhood to be pro-choice." (Quoted as accurately as my memory will allow). Those who know Jay Webber or who paid any attention when he ran would know that Jay is pro-life, and he doesn't hide it one bit.
In response to a direct question from Webber on this very same mailer, Sen. Bob Martin said, "I feel shame." Larry Casha should feel shame too.
Casha is two-faced. Is he for this type of campaigning, or against it? No answer can be found based upon his past record.
