Bedminster Township Committeeman Finn Caspersen, Jr. said today that he will not run to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Mike Ferguson.
“I talked it over with my family, and the best thing for me and my family at this juncture is not to pursue the seat,” said Caspersen, who was mulling a bid last week.
Caspersen, a Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Peapack Gladstone Bank, is the heir to fortune of retired Beneficial Management Chairman and philanthropist Finn Caspersen, Sr., one of the largest political donors in the country. His name surfaced last week as one of over a dozen potential candidates to replace Ferguson.
