Police Union Cites Qualifications as Reason for Endorsement
FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – The Policemen’s Benevolent Association[1] endorsed Chief Jack Hill in his bid to become the next Monmouth County Sheriff. The organization[2] issued the following statement in a letter to Chief Hill announcing the endorsement:
“The membership in attendance discussed the issues at hand regarding the election for Monmouth County Sheriff. Not only are you more qualified than your opponent, we have the confidence that you are truly a man with a clear vision of what that position entails.
“That being said, your integrity and reputation make you the clear choice for County Sheriff. Without regard for party affiliation, P.B.A. Local #209 wholeheartedly endorses you as our candidate for Monmouth County Sheriff.”
