Back from Portugal, Governor Jon Corzine has added four extra stops to his schedule today – all in the 39th district, where Democrats think they have a shot at ousting three longtime Republican legislators.
Corzine, who was in Bergen County earlier this morning for a Bergen County Democratic Organization breakfast and two labor rallies, will return at 4:15 PM for stops in Northvale, Old Tappan, Emerson and Demarest.
In District 39, Gerald Cardinale, a Republican State Senator since 1981, faces Democrat Joseph Ariyan. Democrats also think they have a shot at defeating the two Assembly Republicans, John Rooney and Charlotte Vandervalk; their candidates are River Edge Councilwoman Esther Fletcher and Dumont Councilman Carl Manna.
The Governor also had stops scheduled today in Monmouth and Essex counties. He’ll be in Districts 12 and 14 tomorrow.

Why not Carla Katz?
If I were running for a state office, I'd hope that Carla Katz would campaign for me. After all, she's the only person who can get whatever she wants out of the Governor.
Corzine, Ariyan, Fletcher, & Manna = LOSERS
I protested today against all the evil Democrats today. I hit them in Northvale, Old Tappan, and Emerson. They all traveled together in a large campaign bus, but I hope that they all were wearing there seatbelts. A lesson taught by our Governor. They all seemed to have no chance in winning. Even with the support of Jon Corzine they still will lose. Gerry Cardinale, John Rooney and Charlotte Vandervalk, Republicans right for Bergen County.
Nice to see the governor in NJ for a change..
Wow, Governor Corzine is back in New Jersey. I was wondering when he would get back and work on the business of the people of the state. Oh wait, he is out campaigning. Isnt it good to know that our hard earned tax dollars are paying for the state police to protect him while campaigning for a democratic ticket that is going to lose in North Bergen? At least he cant speed on Rt 17, too much traffic...
Corzine blind to an anti semite donkey
Hear no evil, see no evil because "Aryan is one of ours seems to be the tone of the NJ DEM Leadership. Shame on them, may the voters of Bergen show them all the door on Tuesday
BTW: where was Calypso Gerry?
Obviously, the Dems are showing team spirit. Where are the tried and true Reps? Where is Christie Todd? T.K.? Daddy T.K.? Lost in the Forrest er? Looks to me like the red biggies are staying far away from the "in your mouth" kid. Gooney, Looney and Rooney - what a trifecta
21st Race
Why are we not seeing any coverage of the race in the 21st? If you think it is not a race - why is Jr. going so negative?
Speaking of the 21st
Corzine is going to be in Montclair tomorrow morning, campaigning for Genovese. Maybe he knows something PoliticsNJ doesn't.
