Deal

The deal among Hudson County Democrats appears to be set: Democratic State Senators Bernard Kenny and Joseph Doria will not seek re-election, allowing Brian Stack and Sandra Bolden Cunningham to go to the Senate.  Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy will replace Kenny as County Chairman, and there will be no primary challenge to County Executive Thomas DeGise.  Sheriff Joseph Cassidy is out.

What happens in the Assembly?

Surely this is not one-sided.

HEALY AND ARANGO

Hudson County's "Republican" County Chairman Jose Arango works in the administration of Democrat Mayor Healy. If Healy becomes chairman of the HCDO, then Hudson County's "Republican" chairman will be working for Hudson County's Democrat chairman. It is way past time for Arango to choose. He should finally do the honorable thing and resign from either his party chairmanship or his position in the Healy Administration.
