Seven Republican legislators will be the targets of ethics complaints to be filed tomorrow by two Democratic party leaders: State Senators Joseph Kyrillos, Bob Singer and Peter Inverso, and Assemblymen Kevin O'Toole, David Wolfe, Christopher Connors and Rick Merkt.
O'Toole, is running for State Senate in a contested GOP primary against former Bergen County Freeholder Todd Caliguire and Wayne attorney Victor Rabbat. Inverso is retiring, but comes from the politically competitive 14th district. Connors, in a safe GOP district, is running for the State Senate seat his father has held since 1981.
Democrats are alleging that a federal probe of how legislators might personally profit off specific state budget items is unfairly targeting just one party by looking only at actions since 2004, when Democrats first had complete control of both houses of the Legislature.

Now you know they're(NJ Dems) just pissy and whiney. I'm waiting for the "Chris Christie stole our lunch money and then gave us wedgie's" press release by them. They won't find anything on O'Toole. They probably won't find anything on Kyrillos and Singer, and Wolfe is the only one with a little bit of a wierd link, but that story's wierd because the wife didn't get hired until after the budget grant thing was done. Way to go whiners.
Ethics complaint? Well
Ethics complaint? Well Hell's bells! Why do you think real Republicans have been trying to take out O'Toole in primaries in 2003, 2005 and 2007? He has half his family working for Democrat controlled Essex County.
Republican Conscience
Re: Wolfe ...
"The wife" created the non-profit that got the money, and was it's unpaid head when the money arrived. It was only after the legislature gave her a half million dollars in Christmas Tree decorations that she became a paid executive director.
So she makes nothing before hubby gives the group cash, then gets paid after hubby gives the group cash.
This is as opposed to Nick Scutari who is being subpoena'd about money going to a place his estranged wife works even though it has nothing to do with her job, and that he and his wife are going through an acrimonious divorce.
All those Republicans who were out there touting Chris Christie as "going after both parties" are now whining because Republican appearances of impropriety are finally coming to light. You can't have it both ways, boyo.
John Ginty
Hey Dino Did Ginty phone Chris Christie ???
Get real, Real Rep.
Real Republicans don't eat their own. You,sir, are an imbecile who sounds sour because you can't find a Real job in Essex or elsewhere. Perhaps that is because your stupidity precedes you. As for these ethics complaints. There is no fire here. H--l, there isn't even smoke.
"ETHICS" IS MEANINGLESS
As I have posted before, we have so many different ethics rules and commissions and avenues for accusing other people of the smallest infractions, real and imaginary, that any ethics complaint on any issue is meaningless. Corruption is defined as: whatever the other person is doing. (Didn't I just see Chris Christie jaywalking? Arrest him! File a complaint! When will this crime spree finally end?))

Psst Ginty is walking behind you
A question
If the Democrats are going after O'Toole, doesn't that give credence to the rumor of a deal between Ferrieo and Talerico? Â As for Ginty. Please, the guy wears loafers cause he can't tie his shoes.
John Ginty
Let me guess, and he's got Rafael Fraguela with him too, right?

You may be on to something about the Guy and Joe thing. It seems to be a Mc Greevey thing between them.
Wolfe's wife correction...
Just to correct my mistake, yes Wolfe's wife did create the non-profit organization. I previously said she was not hired until 2001, what I meant was that she did not receive a salary until 2001, 2 years after the grant was done. Now we see that grant went to create a woman's shelter...and maintain it. so because she received a salary two years later, that must have been that grant? your kidding right?
Ethics Complaint
I personally think that Bob Menendez should be investigated for playing games with the livelihood of a former Republican turned Democrat in the Patterson school district who doesn't tow the line 100%.
Why is it that public educators who don't kow tow to Menendez's every desire get stuck working in the basement? Is the same thing going to happen to "Easy Sires" for supporting Brian Stack?
