The Burlington Democratic Chairman wants Republican Nancy Whatley-Griffin to swear that she isn't runing for State Assembly just so she can get a judgeship down the road.
"It's simple, all she has to do is sign this affidavit and prove to the taxpayers of Burlington County that she has not agreed to run for office in exchange for a lucrative political appointment," said Richard Perr, the Democratic leader. "The Burlco Republicans have been engaged in something-for-something politics for years. It's time for Whatley-Griffin to stand against this deeply rooted corruption and prove that Judgeships are not for sale. If she refuses to sign this affidavit her silence will confirm that she has boarded the sinking Burlco GOP ship."
Whatley-Griffin, a Willingboro attorney, and former Philadelphia Flyers star Brian Propp are challenging Democratic Assemblymen Herbert Conaway and Jack Conners in the 7th district.

How about an affidavit from Assemblyman Bodine stating he didn't switch parties because the Dems are paying for his greens fees and finding gainful employment for his relatives?
foolishness
this is one of the silliest things Richard Perr has said (and that's really saying something).
How can anyone swear to something like this? and why would they? Maybe she does want to be a judge somewhere down the line...what's wrong with that?
What a completely foolish waste of time. Are there no real issues in Burlington County?

Sounds like a Democratic advertisement to me!
This shouldn't be on the front page!
Will Perr promise?
Will Perr promise not to appoint his wife's law firm again in dem controled towns.
And while he is at it, how about a pledge that he stops wearing the same blue pin-stripe suit to every event.
No sense
Mr. Democrat has it right. There are times when unchecked partisanship -- on both sides of the aisle -- simply overtakes any sense -- not just common sense.
This is a prime example.

This Is Perr Without His Camden Leash
Perr's successes have come only when Papa George directs the act. Perr's obvious lack of forethought into pointed criticism towards his and his wife's taxpayer funded appointments shows he is still a "wannabe" than an “is”. I challenge Perr to win any election on his own. Start to finish. Take no guidance from Papa George or Mama Cryan and we'll be very impressed if you win anything. Otherwise, before making your ridiculous pledges, get your wife to step down from all those appointments you lined up for her and give back all those tax dollars you have siphoned from Burlington County taxpayers.

Why aren't Republicans demanding that Kathleen Donovan, Bergen County Clerk swear that she is not seeking a Judgeship? Republican Conscience
