Haines elected President as Dover GOP reorganize
Woman to head largest Republican organization in New Jersey
March 7 2006 - - Dover Township is the seventh largest municipality in the state of New Jersey and the largest municipality with a government controlled by Republicans and now, former Assemblywoman and lottery director Virginia (Ginny) Haines, has been named the first ever woman to lead that organization.
Said Haines, "I've always been extremely active in the state and county Republican organization, but more and more I find myself working closely with the Republican leadership on the local level. That’s where a lot of the nuts and bolts of government have to be done and that’s where people turn when they have an issue. I'm deeply honored by the support I received in being elected to lead the Dover Township Republican Club."
Elected along with Haines were first Senior VP, Dr. Alfonso Manforti, VP of Membership & Trustee Meetings, Dr. Anthony Cifelli, VP of Fundraising, Joe Bilotta, Treasurer, Carmen Memoli, Recording Secretary, Patricia Tully and Corresponding Secretary, Delores Day.
Rick Clement, Chairman of the Board stated, “Ginny has always been so active in the leadership that it’s only natural that she should assume the duties of the President. Her dynamic personality and focus on getting things done will help us this year as we support our candidates on the county and state level.
Haines said that her primary focus this year would be to increase membership by reaching out into the community and attracting new members, working closely with the governing body in whatever support capacity she and the rest of the organization could provide and continuing the Club’s tradition of governmental and civic volunteer service.
