ROBERTS STATEMENT ON PASSING
OF ASSEMBLYMAN ARTHUR ALBOHN
(TRENTON) -- Assembly Speaker Joseph J. Roberts Jr (D-Camden) released the following statement upon learning of the passing of former Assemblyman Arthur Albohn:
"Assemblyman Albohn proved that soaring rhetoric and flashiness are unnecessary to be a capable, diligent, and respected public servant.
"Arthur Albohn served his constituents and the institution of the General Assembly ably and simply.
"By the time I came to the Assembly, his reputation as the Legislature's 'Dr. No' already was well established. As many others learned first-hand, this nickname was earned not through a desire to be contrarian, but from a deep commitment to reading every bill, examining every angle, and voting his conscience.
"The Albohn family are in my thoughts and prayers. They should take comfort in knowing that Arthur was loved and respected by so many, both Democrat and Republican."
